We formed in 2019 to help preserve and enhance the beautiful church of St Mary's Kersey.
We also enhance community life in the parish and further afield by holding music, arts and other events.
During 2020 our work was naturally in hiatus but now we have launched membership and the 500 club and we would love you to consider joining us.
Do also keep an eye on this page for upcoming events.
In the Middle Ages St Mary's was an international centre of pilgrimage and in the Second World War it saved hundreds of lives. The RAF lit the building with searchlights to guide returning aircrew. It became known as "The Thank God Church", once you saw St Mary's you knew you were nearly home and whatever had happened to your aircraft, you knew where you were.
In 2020 the church became the home of the newest Shrine in the Church of England and the only re-hallowed Shrine in the county.
Just as importantly, St Mary's is loved by the people of the parish and our role is to cherish it for this and future generations.
A easy way to be a part of FOSM. Please join FOSM and with a small monthly standing order the 500 club.
